2 Timothy 3:1-7 (NKJV)
3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Reflections:
Wow, doesnt that sounds oh so familiar? We couldnt define the age we live in any more descript than that. If these are perilous times what will the next generation be like? I would venture to say that all hell will break loose in the earth.
It really is difficult to comprehend the pitiful magnitude of emotional dysfunction and havoc that the devil is wreaking in this day and age. People that we thought were normal and doing well are committing suicide in unprecedented numbers. It makes no sense, but its happening all around us.
You say, well that sounds really foreboding. No, no beloved, not for us. For us who truly believe its harvest time. God is setting up a contrast in the world. The darker it gets morally the brighter the true Christians light will be seen as a beacon of hope in this turbulent sea of humanity We are the light of the world and, if well allow the Holy Spirit to use us, we will be used to bring hope to a multitude of sin-sick hearts.
So what do you say we get out the spiritual Windex and clean off our reflectors so that we clearly reflect the light of Jesus. Can you think of a better way to invest your life than in being a beacon of hope to the saving of souls for the soon coming kingdom of God ?
