1 Corinthians 13:8a (NKJV)
8 Love never fails.
Reflections:
The closest thing to Gods love may very well be that of a godly mother towards her child. Amidst all pain, and disappointment, a mother will remain steadfast in love; come what may. She will never, ever give up! A mothers love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things for her children.
Children are drawn towards rebellious, hateful behavior as a result of our inherent sin nature, ever-present, evil, out-of-control television, movie and internet media along with neighborhood friends and school classmates. Many children become immersed in rebellion and can easily fall prey to the devils devises. Parents who truly want the best for their children become public enemy #1. They dont want mom or dad messing with their fun.
A wise mother knows that, without God in the mix, there is little she will be able to do to rescue her child once in the devils clutches. Its so easy for her to become an enabler at times like this, simply because she loves so much. She wants to somehow make it all better, but things inevitably seem to go from bad to worse. She knows she must finally give her son, or daughter, over to God and unconditionally release the child totally into His loving arms but its so hard
That is until God finally takes over one day and theres literally nothing else mom can do but pray and cry -- and cry and pray. She must now stand helplessly by and watch her child pass through the furnace of affliction until at last he, or she, finally emerges having chosen life and freedom in Christ!
