Job 9:32-33 (KJV)

³²For he (God) is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. ³³Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.

Reflections:

Job has been sorely tried and tested -- he has lost everything. His body is a mass of weeping sores which he scrapes with a broken piece of pottery for relief. His friends accuse him of bringing his woes on himself because of sin, and God won�t answer him. He cries out desperately for a daysman!

So what�s a daysman?

A daysman is what we need when we�re in trouble. Synonyms for daysman are: mediator, go between, umpire or someone like an arbitrator who can bring two parties together. Job didn�t have one to help him. But we do since the advent of a new and better Covenant.

In our New Covenant we are automatically given a daysman the moment we get saved. He�s our personal mediator and outshines any daysman there ever was. His name, of course, is Jesus Christ: �For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim 2:5).�

Not only has our daysman mediated for us, he reconciled us back to God cancelling all sin and entitling us to all the blessings and promises of God. For all the promises of God, in Christ, are yes, and amen (2 Cor 1:20).
