32For he (God) is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. 33Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.
Reflections:
Job has been sorely tried and tested -- he has lost everything. His body is a mass of weeping sores which he scrapes with a broken piece of pottery for relief. His friends accuse him of bringing his woes on himself because of sin, and God wont answer him. He cries out desperately for a daysman!
So whats a daysman?
A daysman is what we need when were in trouble. Synonyms for daysman are: mediator, go between, umpire or someone like an arbitrator who can bring two parties together. Job didnt have one to help him. But we do since the advent of a new and better Covenant.
