Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV)
24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Reflections:
What does a true friend look like? Well, if anyone was ever a true friend, it was Jesus; therefore he must be our model. What is it that makes Jesus such an endearing friend.
He was the servant of all.
He gave all He had, surely turned the other cheek, and went the extra mile.
He totally allowed the Holy Spirit to flow through him in every circumstance.
He forgave all that wronged him (if anyone was ever wronged, it was Jesus).
He always brought forth totally purity and holiness.
He laid down His very life for us.
Now, I know we�re not Jesus, nor are we expected to be perfect. However with the Holy Spirit living in us we bear a strong reflection of His true nature in our earthen vessels. What God does expect of us is that we sincerely desire to fully walk in the holy nature that was freely given us, surrendering our hearts to the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, a true friend is one who allows the Lord to express himself to others through them. What if, in our heart, we become the one who �sticks closer than a brother� to everyone we meet � Jesus did �
