Psalm 19:7-10 (KJV)

⁷The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. ⁸The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.⁹The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. ¹⁰More to be desired are they then gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Reflections:

What is sweeter than honey? Well in the natural realm there�s not too much; actually I can�t think of anything. However in the spiritual it�s clearly the essence of the law of God. That�s what today�s verse is telling us. For us, the new creation in Christ, it�s the law written on the tablets of our heart -- and because we have a brand new nature -- we love it. There is no bondage, only wonderful freedom to love and honor God, as he desires, with our whole heart.

It makes us wise, joyful, gives us spiritual vision, it�s clean, enduring, true and righteous � how sweet it is!!! Total surrender to Christ, and the law, is new life from the dead. It is pregnant with such power that all things become possible to us who believe. It�s is absolutely the opposite of what we might have thought the law would be.

Isn�t it interesting that the Holy Spirit picked honey as an analogy for the law of God? Let�s take a look at some of the qualities of honey:
