My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1 John 2:1).
The difference between a saint and a sinner is that the sinner naturally sins. It�s his nature to do so. On the other hand the last thing a saint wants to do is sin. His passion is to live holy and to please God, because he has a new nature. He is no longer a sinner by nature. His nature is holy!
We are not to go around confessing what we�re not, but rather who we are in Christ. How many times have you heard Christians, or even yourself say, �We�re all sinners by nature.� THAT IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE!
To continue to confess what we were, keeps us from being who we really are in Christ. We end up living in an expectancy of failure, because after all �I�m just a sinner by nature.�
To say I�ve been given a new nature without disengaging from the old is to live somewhere in the middle. If the Devil can�t have you as a sinner by nature, then he�ll settle for a saint that�s �stuck� in an old nature mentality. This is one time where it would be good to come unglued �
