Judges 6:11-13 (NKJV)
11 Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, �The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!�
13 Gideon said to Him, �O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, �Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?� But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.�
Reflections:
God wanted to use Gideon to defeat the Midianites. Gideon responded, �O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father�s house.� And the Lord said to him, �Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.�
Gideon didn�t believe the angel because he knew he wasn�t even close to being a warrior. He was in fact hiding from the Midianites! He was fixated on his situation and not the word from God that the angel was delivering. Finally after asking for two miraculous signs Gideon believed, and in fact was used to defeat the Midianite Army.
What if God came to you and called you a mighty man, or woman, of valor and that He were going to use you to defeat the works of the enemy. Would you, like Gideon, shrink back or would you boldly stand up and say �yes Lord, send me, I�ll go!� The truth of the matter is that he already has called every single Christian to go toe to toe into battle with the devil.
The moment we were saved we were fully equipped and chosen by God to enter the fray. We were given:
� The Keys to the Kingdom
� Christ delegated authority
� The written Word of God to fully equip each believer
� The living Word of God (Holy Spirit) to teach, lead, guide and empower each and every genuine Christian
� The full armor of God
Did you ever ask yourself, �Why did he give us all that?� For the very same reason he called Gideon; to defeat the enemy! It�s time, beloved, to stand tall and to believe it�s true.
� You are a warrior, oh man of God!
� You are a warrior, oh woman of God!
And the Lord says, �Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the enemy as one man ��
