Joel 2:29-31

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
2 Peter 3:12 (KJV)
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Reflections:
Whenever I read verses like these it reminds me of a nuclear event. We truly are living in the last days (of course everyone since biblical days has felt the very same way). One thing�s for sure though: we�re getting closer, and we now have the technology to bring it all to pass.
What will be the fate of those of us who cling fast to Christ? Well, some believe that there will be a pre-tribulation rapture (a catching up and away of all true Christians before the tribulation begins). Others believe in a mid- tribulation rapture (the tribulation being a seven year period). Still others believe that we, the believers, will have to endure the events of the entire tribulation.
Now of course those that believe each of the above scenarios are absolutely certain and convinced that they are right, and they have all the various bible verses to back up their claims. Obviously, they can�t all be right. At least two of them are wrong (and perhaps all three).
So what a body to do to prepare? I believe that wisdom dictates that we prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
I think Jesus gave us the best advice,
�Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh (Matt 24:44) ��

Raphael responded to yesterday's "Bible Portion for Today" regarding Benaiah son of Jehoiada:
Benaiah is my favorite; his name means (building) under construction. No matter how powerful we become we will always be a Benaiah ( under construction). On the gravestone of MRS BILLY GRAHAM are written these words, "Construction is over thank you for your patience."
This Benaiah was not attacked by the Lion He went down looking for it...amazing we need to every once a while turn to offensive attacks.
