2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (New King James Version)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Reflections:
Weve all gone through great times of testing and trials and, if weve trusted Christ, have ultimately emerged as more than a conqueror each and every time. Not only are these trials set before us to train us so that we may be complete in Christ, but they are also to equip us to come along side and to help our brothers and sisters when they too must pass through such valley experiences.
These words of comfort the Lord would have us to speak can be a wellspring of living water in someones harsh wilderness journey. Dont run from a brother or sister in tribulation run to them we are called to be their ministers of life
Perhaps youre the one who needs a word of comfort today. Maybe your castles are crumbling all around you and you just simply dont know what to do.
I would like to call on the Bible Portion for Today readers and ask some of you to share one (relatively short) encouraging testimony with which to build up whoever of us might be down.
