Romans 8:37-39 (NKJV)

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 

Reflections:

It is staggering the number of professing Christians that are held captive by nicotine, alcohol and/or any type of substance abuse. I believe it�s important to state that Jesus is unquestionably more than able to deliver us from any form of addictive behavior.

 

I believe that all will agree with the above statement; that is of course if you truly believe the Word of God with all your heart. From this we can safely conclude that God is not the bad guy here.

 

We hear Christian folks say all too often, �Well, why won�t God take this from me? I�ve prayed and asked him to do so, but he won�t do it.�  The truth of the matter is we either don�t want to truly give it up, or we simply don�t trust or believe that he is able to deliver.

 

I can personally testify along with the songwriter that �The things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.�  What this means is that darkness cannot co-exist within the deep brilliance of God�s healing light and love.

 

My advice is to head for the light more than you ever have before. Go deeper into the love of Jesus, forsaking all. �Cast all your cares on Him for he cares for you.� �Perfect love casts out all fear.� He will not fail you �
