Psalm 118:24 (King James Version)
24This (today) is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Reflections:
Can we really rejoice in today? How is it that we cant seem to escape our yesterdays and continually carry them over into our todays? It seems as fast and as hard as we try to outrun our past it simply keeps right up with us. It seems to be stuck to us like glue.
This is most evident in our habits and in our relationships. Why is it that we always hurt the one we love? Why is it that we always hurt ourselves with the lust of our own eyes, the lust of our own flesh and our selfish pride of life? Its because we have a sin nature through which we involuntarily tend to the negative. Simply put we just cant do this on our own. WE NEED HELP!
The good news is that a lasting victory is only a choice away. Oh come on Ron, that ridiculous! No its not its true! Everything, and I mean everything, can totally change today and for all our tomorrows. If we cant believe that, then in what are we hoping?
Christ offers us a new creation (one that is hidden in Him) (2 Cor 5:17).If we will truly surrender our past and desperately desire to live in Christ today, He will super-naturally transform us, by the power of the Holy Spirit living within us, and infuse into us His loving and overcoming nature -- no matter what!
This CAN be the day which the LORD hath made; we CAN rejoice and be glad in it! The work MUST be the Lords, but the choice to allow the process to begin remains with us We need to get real with God and give it up, cause our program simply put, aint workin
