32I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
Reflections:
There�s a great and fundamental truth of profound value here, and that is without an enlarged heart there�s really no way that we can run the way of God�s commandments. It simply cannot be done.
As incredible as it might seem, there is absolutely nothing we can do in terms of transforming ourselves into something other than what we already are. Oh, we can run the way of psychology and find temporary relief, but that�s not transformation -- that�s behavior modification, and that equals a lifelong bondage to self-help programs and support groups.
This is why Holy Spirit-led Christians can boldly proclaim, �I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.� It�s because they know which side their bread is buttered on. They know that it�s God�s free gifts of imparted enablement�s that truly change us from glory to glory (from who we are, to what God is calling us to be).
What is an enlarged heart anyway? It�s a supernatural (beyond our ability) deposit by God into the human heart that allows us to function in a greater heart-capacity than before.
How can we receive an enlarged heart? By simply stop trying to change ourselves, and ask God for one (Lk 11:9-10); with a sincere and repentant heart. That�s how we got saved, and that�s how we change at every step of the way. This way God gets all the glory, and we get to see the reality of the Kingdom of God functioning in our midst �
