Psalm 133 (KJV)
1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Reflections:
Anointing oil in the Bible is believed to be a powerful symbol of the Holy Spirit especially when mixed with faith (Lk 4:18; Acts 10:38; Jas 5:14-15).
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Unity (Eph 4:3). For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit (1 Cor 12:13).
And what is more beautiful than delicate pristine droplets of gentle refreshing dew? What a beautiful symbol of the Holy Spirit (Jn 7:37-39).
The Holy Spirit is the one who has descended from heaven upon on Christs bride and has anointed and refreshed her by binding her together all over the world. This is a spiritual reality; one that rises much higher than which church we attend -- for here, in the midst of Gods people, the Lord has commanded His blessing forevermore
