2 Chronicles 31:21 (KJV)
21And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he (King Hezekiah)did it with all his heart, and prospered.
Reflections:
Ah, herein lays the secret to victorious Christian living. We�ve all heard the expression: �You get out of something what you put into it.� This also holds true for the child of God. While it�s true we can�t save ourselves, once saved it�s our choices that determines how effective we will be in Christ. Clearly we can�t blame God if we fall short; for he has provided all we need as this following verse clearly indicates:
�According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2 Pet 1:3-4).�
If we are to have an awesome, productive, fruit filled life in Christ, we must take personal responsibility for who we are in Him. Of course we might not know our specific calling at first, but as we search for Him with all our hearts (like King Hezekiah) we can be assured we�ll become aware of His perfect portion for our lives.
It�s wise for us to remember that it�s His plan and not ours that counts. We can lose precious time wanting it our way. We would do better to heed the songwriter�s words:
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will,
while I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Hold o'er my being absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me!
