Proverbs 21:2 (KJV)
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
Reflections:
I have come to realize that its a mans heart that truly delights the heart of God. When someone is sincere and surrendered, like soft pliable clay, miracles begin to happen in their lives. When I speak of a miracle here Im referring to something that God does through mercy and grace for, or to, us that we cannot accomplish ourselves in the natural.
This can range anywhere from the subjective all the way to stark reality; from deep, lasting, emotional healing, all the way to blind eyes instantly being opened to see for the very first time.
By the same token God sees all the ugliness in our hearts as well. If we harbor secret sin -- its no secret to God; and as spiritual or as pious as we might appear to others around us God knows exactly who and what we are. The problem with secret sin is that we can be sure that our sin will find us out (Num 32:23).
That means that if we deliberately continue in secret sin God will expose us; perhaps even to those nearest and dearest to us. There is no need to continue on in ugly sin. We might think weve crossed the black line in our hearts and theres no getting back, but thats a lie straight out off hell. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Were going to need help from the Holy Spirit and also a brother, or sister respectively. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (Jas 5:16). I have seen this work time and time again. Once we repent of and bring our secret sin out of the dark (in the presence of a witness) it loses its power and the Holy Spirit replaces the darkness with His light. Its tough, but its powerful
