1The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,2And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. 3And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. 4Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: 6And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Reflections:
Many of us have been victims of war, be it in our homes growing up, in the world through bad company, and even in the church. Why do people hurt people? God reveals to us that the heart (of man) is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?We were all born in sin with a subtle, evil, and even sometimes diabolical kingdom lurking within our hearts; one in which Satan is Lord.
The instinct to simply survive, or to prosper, drives mankind to do all manner of wickedness. Man is basically self-centered and lust-driven: the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Not a very pretty picture is it? But many of us know it�s true, for we have been its unsuspecting victim. As a result we have died inside; we have been defeated and we lay it seems in a valley of dry bones.
Can these bones live again? Absolutely yes, but only through Jesus Christ! He alone has defeated sin and death! He alone has defeated Satan, the archenemy of God! You that have cried out to God � take heart, you will live again! Jesus will set you free and when he does you will be a seasoned warrior. You will have known the pain. You will have survived the pain, and you will be invincible in and through Him!
You�re not alone � many suffer. Always remember, Jesus was the ultimate wounded warrior. �He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isa 53:50).�
Your time will come. I can�t say when, nor can I say how, but if you set your hope in Christ you will rise again. Hang in there; help is on the way �
