In order to turn your blog into a successful online business, youll need to get traffic to it and keep them coming back. The best way to do this is to turn your blog into an authority site - to provide the best content you can in your niche and make it interesting to your blog readers.

Even successful bloggers start to run out of ideas for original content to post about. Some may resort to scraping the bottom of the barrel to find subjects to blog about, but that ultimately loses them readers, which will impact negatively on their income.

Where do you find great ideas for your blog articles?  There are actually many different methods you can use to get unstuck. These may be simple techniques, but they can be effective if used right.

Here are some things to try the next time you don't know what to write about:

Evergreen content. Always try to answer the question: 'What is quality, timeless and useful content that visitors will still read in the years to come'?

Industry or niche. Are you still answering the questions and fulfilling the needs of your target audience? Write down 20 problems in your niche - subjects that you still need to learn, things that you already mastered and the things you need to get better at. Other people struggle with the same issues.

Scour the news sites. Search the news sites like CNN, MSNBC, and FOXNEWS and see if you can find a top story that you can blog about. Instead of just linking to the story, add your own view on it.

You can write about your personal feelings toward the story or ask your readers what their thoughts are on it. Just make sure the story somehow relates to your blogs topic.

Check out other blogs, Especially the successful blogs in your niche, and see what people are blogging about. It may seem unethical, but as long as youre not stealing content, its perfectly acceptable to see what the readers are interested in.

Can you find a post that catches your eye?  Is there something you can add to that article?  A new spin you can put on it?  Media outlets always have an eye on their competition to see what others are doing and you should, too.

Looking for a unique way to make money? And it won't cost you a dime...
                   --------------------------------------------------

Internet research. Do a search on the Internet for your blogs topic. See what information you can come up with concerning your niche. You may become inspired by something youve read there or you may think of some comments to post about it.

Check the video sites. YouTube has a zillion different videos out there that you can add to your blog.  See if you can find one that relates to your blogs theme. Post the video to your blog and have your readers share their thoughts on it.

Consider doing reviews. Reviews can be a good filler to use while you try to get inspired again. Choose some products, websites, books or whatever you can think of thats related to your blogs theme and write a review of it. If its a good review, add your affiliate link and make some money from your opinions.

Keyword research. It's quite possible to get ideas for blog articles while doing keyword research on a subject.

Magazines about your niche subject. They contain articles about the things people - offline and online - are interested about.

If all else fails, compile a list. A list is always popular.

Tools.

Google trends for current issues and themes.

Topsy - to see the most shared content.

BuzzSumo - to find popular content.

Google alerts and Talkwalker Alerts - to get notified of new stuff in your chosen areas.

SmartBrief, to get information curated from thousands of sources.

You can get back your inspiration for your blog writing if you look to other sources. They can help you come up with ideas of what you can share with your readers or they can give you a nice filler until your personal inspiration returns. Dont lose readers just because youre a victim of blogger's block.

Life should be fun - enjoy it!
