keep you happy and healthy. If you have a few
pounds you would like to lose, then spend a
few minutes with these helpful tips that will

or a little, a little push never hurts.

A good way to lose weight is to start eating
more fiber. Eating foods that contain more
fiber, such as oatmeal and whole wheat bread,
will keep you full longer. They are also low
glycemic, which means they'll be less likely
to be stored in your body as fat.

A great way to help you lose weight is to share
a meal with someone whenever you eat out. By
sharing a meal, you and that person will be
consuming less calories than you normally would.
Sharing a meal will also leave you with some
money in your pocket.

Make sure that you eat breakfast every morning.
Research has shown that people who eat breakfast
each morning take in fewer calories during the
day than those who do not eat breakfast. Since
the primary part of weight loss is burning more
calories than you take in, the less you take in
the better.

It was once said that "laziness is mother of
invention." Eating healthy means not having to
spend three or more hours a day cooking. Buy
meals that are easy and fast to prepare to avoid
the allure of breaking your diet by eating out.
Or, spend a day when you're motivated preparing
things for later so that you can put your pre-
cooked dinner in the microwave.

More fruits and veggies, that is. Identify your
favorite fruits and make sure you stock up on them.
Love salads or baby carrots? Whatever your veggie of

people eat less. And the next time you're tempted to
reach for a snack, make sure you hit the water
fountain - sometimes, when our brain tells us we're

are unhealthy pick up the phone and call a friend.
Most food cravings only last about five minutes so
if you keep them on the phone for a while your
craving should go away by the time the conversation
is over.

Don't jeopardize your weight loss program by
needlessly comparing yourself to others, be they
fellow gym-goers, friends, supermodels or classmates.
When it comes to losing weight, no two people are
exactly alike. Comparing your own measurements and
successes to those of other people, is like comparing
apples to oranges. It is not rational and often ends
in discouragement.

Both are important in getting going when it comes to
