| Every business needs a customer list.
NO LIST = NO BUSINESS
This can be as simple as just a customer / prospect name and email
address to full details about their needs and buying habits. The amount
of info depends on the type of business and what details are needed to
best help the client. The way our friend in the picture above is doing
it, is not the recommended way to do it. The larger the list, the more
potential business may be completed. It is more important to focus on
the quality of the potential client. We will look at two categories of
list building, online and offline.
Offline is the old school way of building a customer /
prospect list. This includes, but not limited to: collecting business
cards, using a signup clip board, using online or offline business and
phone directories. At times, old school is the right way to go. Depends
on the requirements and the age range of the clients involved. Be
adaptable and not rigid in your thinking when it comes to list building,
resourcefulness is key.
